Reef Bio Calcium MBreda® is a source of calcium, strontium, alkalinity and nutrients in ideal proportions for the growth of corals and calcareous algae.

Calcium:

Corals use calcium to form their skeletons, which are basically composed of calcium carbonate, absorbing the maximum amount of calcium dissolved in the water, constantly carrying out the calcination process. The drop in the level of calcium, below 360 ppm, makes it much more difficult to maintain corals, which can limit their growth and prevent healthy development.

Alkalinity:

Like calcium, alkalinity is very important to the formation cycle of your skeletons. Corals absorb bicarbonate, convert it to carbonate and use it to form their skeletons. Higher than normal levels of alkalinity in the water cause calcium carbonate to precipitate, causing waste and calcium incrustation in equipment.

The values found in oceans are around 420 ppm of calcium and 7 dKH of alkalinity. Maintaining calcium levels is one of the most important requirements for coral development. For these reasons, we recommend a calcium level between 400 and 450 ppm and an alkalinity between 7 and 9 dKH.

How to use:

Add one measuring spoon (10 g) of Reef Bio Calcium MBreda® to every 100 liters of aquarium water in a high-water-flow location, preferably in the sump, and never directly on corals or fish.

Use precision Calcium and Alkalinity tests to verify the optimal parameters of your aquarium. If the desired value has not been reached, repeat the dosage once. Do not exceed the dosage of 20 g for every 100 liters of water in a 24-hour period.

After adding Reef Bio Calcium MBreda®, wait 12 hours to add other types of supplements.

A dosage of 10 g of Reef Bio Calcio MBreda® for every 100 liters of water will raise 30 ppm of calcium and 1.4 ºdKH of alkalinity.
